zara. Zara. Zara. How we love thee. I remember when the first store opened in Regent Street in 1998, having shopped in Zara in Spain, I was beyond excited (Mich was only about 10!). Eighteen years later and the love affair shows no signs of waning.
we hear people say “oh but the quality isn’t that great”, great, shmate, I have Zara pieces in my wardrobe from my single trips to Marbella, and they are still going strong (let’s call them vintage).
This season they have GOT IT GOING ON. Every time we go in we literally stop breathing (we know this sounds melodramatic – which we are – but seriously have you been in there recently??). Anyway, we digress. We actually don’t know where to start …… oversized shirts, military jackets, embroidery galore, metallics, ruffles, lace, leather, oh we could go on all night …
Nobody on the High Street comes close to Zara in terms of cut, style, detailing and originality. We have both worn pieces and been asked “Is that Isabel Marant?”, “Stella McCartney?” …… “no darling, £19.99 from Zara”.
Otherwise known as another excuse to shop (like we need one) HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY people ….. and with discounts of up to 50% on some of our favourite brands (as we say to our husbands) …. it’s practically free.
Classic wardrobe staples – a leather biker, a camel coat, a really good handbag – today is the day to splash out and get a designer piece at a (practically) High Street price! with party season just around the corner, now is the perfect time to buy the sequin dress that will only see the light of day at the office Christmas party. Or how about the fourth pair of leopard print boots to enter your wardrobe (oh, is that just us?).
So just for you, we have picked out our absolute favourite, not to be missed, get it or regret it, best bargains of the BLACK FRIDAY SALES.
So come on girls, let’s boost the economy and see what money we can save …..
Our first blog could only be about one thing …….. ripped jeans of course.
We won’t admit (in writing) just how many pairs we own, but in our defence we do wear a different pair every day. Boyfriend, flared, skinny, cropped, blue, black, white, high waisted, printed, patchwork, small tears to gaping holes….. the options are endless.
From JUNYA WATANABE ripped patchwork jeans (£985 NET A PORTER) , YVES SAINT LAURENT Distressed Jeans at £600 to Top Shop’s MOTO Blue Super Rip Jamie Jean at £45 it’s impossible not to find a pair (or ten) that suit your size and budget.
How ripped do you go? – gentle abrasions on the knee or large gaping tears …. Well that is up to you ….. we say somewhere in the middle is about right for us.
It’s fairly difficult to mess this look up. Sweatshirt and trainers, t shirt and blazer to a sequinned top and heels – everything just seems sophisticated and effortless when partnered with a decent pair of ripped jeans…. Like you are not trying too hard, “what? this old thing? just threw it on” …….. yeah, as if …….
